Michelle Hoffman is a Licensed Family Therapist. She has worked in several areas of mental health including residentials, in home therapy, and therapeutic day schools. Michelle works with any type of family, and has extensive experience with families who have teenagers or young adults who are chronically dysregulated and/or unsafe.
Michelle is trained to work with a number of common diagnoses including: anxiety/depression, ADHD, school avoidance, ASD, and suicidality/self-harm. She can work with the teenager as an individual, provide parent coaching, or work with the family as a whole. Michelle uses a number of modalities during session including books, videos, movement, and humor to create a healthy therapeutic environment.
In addition to her work as a family therapist, Michelle provides training to parent or school groups on topics such as school refusal, suicidality, self-harm, and dysregulation. She is also a trainer for the Family Connections program through the National Educational Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder (NEABPD).
