We all have a unique story to tell. Our stories need witnessing, understanding, and even transformation. Kerry believes that therapy provides such a transformative space. It is only in telling our stories, slowing down and recognizing our automatic thoughts and responses that we can reveal our unique inner resources and the truth that we already have everything we need to embrace lives of connection, health, and purpose. It is a creative and collaborative endeavor, navigating internal and external struggles, organizing
thoughts and feelings, identifying patterns, and being curious about our own (and each other’s ’) stories. In the past twenty years Kerry has worked with children, teenagers, and adults coping with
with anxiety, depression, domestic violence, grief and trauma. Working with adolescent and young adult females struggling with mental health issues, especially those related
to self esteem, identity and self image is a particular passion of hers. Helping women cope during the challenging transition to motherhood is another primary focus of her practice.
Kerry is certified from Postpartum Support International in treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and recently completed EMDR training. She is also an Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGCS), providing clients a roadmap to navigating their journeys of grief and loss. Kerry uses a blend of clinical modalities including Internal Family Systems (IFS); Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and other mind/body techniques; Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT); and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She has always viewed people in the context of their groups, thus family systems and people’s experiences of belonging to groups, in general, also inform her work. In addition to private practice, Kerry has worked in domestic violence, residential care, and at a large outpatient clinic. She is contracted with BCBS, UBH (United, Harvard Pilgrim, Allways), and Tufts. It is important to note that she works weekdays 9-3.
